Tomorrow Kim is going back to Denmark after spending one month on the boat with us.
The rest of us, Laurent, John and I, will continue towards Barra de Navidad where we plan to spend New Year together with our friends from El Tiburon.
On the 6th of January Charlotte will join us for 6 weeks.

Bye bye Kim, we will miss you on the boat (and also your very tasty food)

We had a very nice Danish Christmas dinner on the 24th of December.
The menu was lobster, duck with red cabbage and browned potatoes, and ris a la mande for dessert. It was delicious, and everybody loved it.
Our friends Omar and Geoff from Un Mundo came to celebrate with us, and we had a great evening.
On the 25th we celebrated Christmas the gringo way, with 60 other cruisers from other boats in the marina.
Many of them we already knew from La Paz or other places we have stopped on the way.

Yesterday we all went out diving at Los Arcos in the Bay of Banderas.
Our friend Natalia arranged for us to go out with the dive center she works for, and we had a great day.
The visibility was not too good, and the water was cold, but the dive sites were nice and there were lots of fish. And the staff at PV Scuba were great. Thanks Natalia!

Chacala bay where we anchored last night.
This morning we left for Banderas Bay, and in the afternoon we arrived in Marina Riviera in La Cruz.
We'll probably spend Christmas here, some of our cruising friends arrange a big party for all the yachties here in the marina.

Under sail this morning from San Blas to Chacala where we are now anchored.
Chacala is a beautiful little bay with a fantastic beach and some nice restaurants. One of the best anchorages we've seen so far on the pacific coast of Mexico.

Jungle tour in San Blas

Tour of the Pacifico brewery in Mazatlan, including all the beer you can drink.
Impressive view of Mazatlan from the 8th floor of the brewery building.

Tomorrow we're leaving for San Blas, it should take us about a day and a half to get there.

Sailing on S/Y Windsong is hard work...

We're still in Mazatlan, decided to stay in Marina el Cid until Saturday. Haven't had quite enough of the pools and jacuzzi yet.
Tuesday we celebrated Maja's birthday, Kim and John prepared a gourmet dinner and our friends from El Mundo, Omar and Jeff, came to celebrate with us.

Yesterday we spend the morning on a dinghy trip around the marinas of Mazatlan, and in one of them we found our friends from La Paz, Omar and Geoff on El Mundo.
In the afternoon we explored Mazatlan old town, it is a very nice town with the longest Malecon (beachwalk) in Mexico.
To get to town we took a "pulmonia", an old Volkswagen with the roof and sides cut off. Interesting experience!
Today we'll do some shopping and get ready for our departure tomorrow. Our next stop will probably be Santa Cruz near Puerto Vallarta, if the weather is ok that should take us a day and a half.

Marina el Cid, Mazatlan.
Beautiful marina with several restaurants, pools, jacuzzi and beach club. Nice to enjoy some luxury after a couple of days at sea.

We left La Paz on Thursday morning, sailed all day and arrived in Bahia de los Muertos just after dark. We anchored there for the night, had a good night sleep and woke up early next morning. After having breakfast in the restaurant we left the bay and started for Mazatlan.
We arrrived a day and a half later, Saturday afternooon, and are now docked in Marina el Cid.
We'll probably stay here until Monday.

Iben, Morten and Frederik left yesterday, we're gonna miss them!

There's only 6 days left until our departure from La Paz, and we have lots of things to do to get the boat ready.
We're looking forward to moving on South, and our first stop will most likely be Mazatlan on the mainland where we'll meet up with some friends for a couple of days before we continue to Puerto Vallarta.

Happy days at the beaches on Isla Espiritu Santo
The whale sharks are here!
Iben and Morten went out snorkeling with them a few days ago and saw 16!

Maja as safety diver at a free diving competition on the Costa Baja One.
Estrella broke the Mexican record for women, 40 m without fins and 50 m with fins.
It was fun to experience free diving close up, and fortunately everything went well so the only thing for the safety diver to do was to stay at the bottom and video film the divers.

Iben, Morten and Frederik arrived a week ago, and we've been out cruising a couple of times.
Everybody are doing well and enjoyng the weather, the water and the boat.
We have been swimming, snorkeling with sea lions, scuba diving and relaxing.
After a couple of days in the marina we're now getting ready to go out cruising around Isla Espiritu Santo and hopefully dive the Fan Ming wreck tomorrow.
